easyJet is to join Ryanair in withholding the increase in passenger charges.

easyJet has written to BAA objecting to the price hike at Gatwick, and informed the CAA that it is to challenge the price rises at Gatwick Airport through a judicial review.

Over the next five years passenger charges at Gatwick will increase by 49% from £5.61 to £8.36. Passenger charges at Heathrow are due to increase by 86% from £10.36 to £19.31.
