Passenger numbers at Glasgow Prestwick Airport are on the rise. Figures released show that the Prestwick airport handled 222,940 passengers in June, a 3% rise compared with June 2007, and a 1% increase on May 2008. Chief Executive Mark Rodwell said: “This is a strong showing in the current aviation environment and demonstrates how individual airports and airlines can grow against a declining trend. “The overall Glasgow market is declining, demonstrated by the fact that passengers at Glasgow Abbotsinch were down by 4.9% in June, consistent with its year-to-date drop of 4.8%. “The strength of our key airline customers and our ability to maintain an efficient operating and capital cost base are crucial in this environment. The June result shows signs of these strengths against a shrinking Glasgow market.” For up-to-date Prestwick airport information and to book Prestwick airport parking using an online parking price checker click on the links.
