Ground and cabin crew at Lufthansa are due to start strike action today over pay and it is uncertain how many Lufthansa flights will be affected and at which airports.

Flybe has responded to the threat of industrial action by increasing capacity on a number of flights to Germany.

The airline is to operate larger aircraft on routes to Germany from Birmingham airport, Southampton airport and Manchester airport.

Flybe operates the following routes from Germany:

• Dusseldorf to: Birmingham, Manchester and Southampton
• Frankfurt to: Birmingham, Manchester and Southampton
• Hannover to: Birmingham, Manchester and Southampton
• Hamburg to: Birmingham
• Stuttgart to: Birmingham.
