Millions of Families Benefit from Chancellor’s APD Tax Cuts

In today’s Autumn Statement Chancellor, George Brown, announced that he is to scrap the controversial Air Passenger Duty, APD, tax for under 12s.

From next May 2015 the tax will be scrapped for children under 12. Then, from 2016 the tax will be scrapped for all children under 16.

The UK APD tax is one of the highest flying taxes in the world, so the move is a welcome start from the travel industry, which has been campaigning since 1994 when it was first introduced for it to be abolished.
