Following the success of SkyEurope’s SkyDate in June, the airline has announced it is to offer SkyDate from six European cities.

SkyDate, a novel twist on traditional speed dating, will be offered on London Luton to Prague flights on 28 and 29 November.

Participants will be given a reserved seat in the aircraft. The speed dating begins with each woman talking to one man. After 5 minutes a signal is given and the men change seats. The second round begins. This process is being repeated until the participants have met about 10 SkyDaters.

After first contact in the air, participants will enjoy the night in the Czech capital: a guided city tour, hotel accommodation, and a taste of the city’s nightlife are included. SkyEurope is closely cooperating on this project with Czech Tourism Board, and UK based Czech Travel.

Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer of SkyEurope, explains: “20 years ago there were only two categories of airline passengers: corporate travellers and tourists. Thanks to the low cost carriers, which made air travel far more affordable, a new passenger group emerged: people visiting friends and relatives. Now SkyEurope is taking it one step further: our airline wants to bring people closer together even in the aircraft in an original and relaxing way. Therefore, the SkyDate concept fits perfectly in our positioning as lifeStyle airline.
