After a busy weekend repatriating holidaymakers stranded abroad after the collapse of XL, the CAA is telling ATOL-protected holidaymakers to continue their holidays as normal.

It is estimated that there are currently around 30,000 passengers still on holiday and the CAA is advising them not to fly home early or pay for new flights.

Richard Jackson, CAA Director of Consumer Protection, said: “It is important holidaymakers understand that if they are ATOL-protected their holiday continues. If you are not due back until this weekend or next week do not try and get an early flight and certainly do not pay for a new flight home. The CAA will arrange to bring you home on the same day you were due home with XL.”

The CAA is arranging flights to bring back customers protected by the ATOL scheme and is also offering seats to passengers without ATOL protection at a reasonable price.
