Do you have memories of Birmingham Airport? If so, the airport would like to hear from you. Local residents, former employees and passengers are being invited to a coffee morning on Wednesday 9 July to share their memories of the airport. The event will feature an exhibition of historic photographs and will by attended by current and retired Airport staff, while the coffee morning will also be featured on BBC WM’s Ed Doolan Show. Birmingham International Airport’s Head of Corporate and Community Affairs, John Morris, said, “The coffee morning promises to be a great occasion and we are hoping that as many people as possible can visit us at Marston Green Village Hall and share their memories of the Airport. We celebrate our 70th anniversary next year and we are keen to hear from those who have an interesting story to tell in order to produce a history that will provide us all with an intriguing insight into the Airport’s eventful past – and in particular the part that local people have had to play.” The coffee morning will take place on 9 July at Marston Green Village Hall, between 9.30-11.30am, and will be open to members of the public who have an interesting story or memory to share about the history of Birmingham Airport over the last seven decades.
