A new service by Iberia Express has started flying out of Birmingham Airport.
Flying four times a week from Birmingham to Madrid, the new service will fly every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Operating an Airbus 320, the 177 seater aircraft will offer a choice of economy and business seating.
As well as Madrid being a hugely popular city break – a city full of history, architecture, shopping and nightlife, it’s also a central hub airport for the airline.
As a result, passengers have a choice of over 30 forwarding Spanish destinations, as well as connecting long haul flights across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America – choose from Dakar, Buenos Aires, Havana, Mexico City, Montevideo, Santiago de Chile, and São Paulo for example.
Carrying British Airways codes, all BA Executive Club members, and Iberia Plus customers will be able to earn and redeem Avois points when flying with Iberia Express.
Speaking about the new service, Birmingham Airport’s, Chief Executive, Paul Kehoe, said, “Not only is this great news as it increases capacity to Madrid, but Iberia Express is also a oneworld alliance airline and BA codeshare carrier, giving travellers enormous benefits.
This is our 11th new airline to recently launch so we’re delighted that Iberia Express has also recognised the extensive business and leisure market in our region, and we welcome the strong Iberia brand to our growing network of airlines.”
