Passenger numbers at Birmingham Airport are creeping up towards the 10-million-a year mark.

Figures just released show the airport had busy December with passenger number up 1.7% on December 2007. While 2008 was a record-breaking year for the airport with passenger numbers up 4.4% on the previous year to 9,634,734.
