Pay, or don’t pay that’s the choice facing passengers being dropped off or picked up at Cardiff Airport. From today, Monday, 5 July 2010 , passengers have the option of paying a £1 fee for Cardiff’s new Priority drop & go and Priority pick up areas, or using the free-of-charge drop off and pick up area in the Long Stay 1 car park (formerly the Long Stay 2 car park), just a short distance from the terminal building. The changes to pick up and drop off have been introduced following the completion of the construction work on the new layout outside Cardiff’s terminal building. For drivers dropping and picking up passengers new signage is in place on all approach roads and within the airport site leading to the new parking facilities and providing information on the new drop off and pick up options. Charges: Priority drop and go Free drop off Priority pick up area To search for and book Cardiff airport parking and Cardiff airport hotels click on the links.

I have not had a reply to the email I sent (copied below) on 10th of this month. In addition to the complaint below, I am making another which is more serious. My wife, Sandra Ware is currently travelling from Cardiff to Budapest to join me. She parked her car, as usual, in the “Days Inn” long term car park. To her surprise, the transit bus did not take her to the usual stop outside the terminal, but dropped her a considerable distance away. She is in her late 60′s and has recently had a knee replacement, but had not felt the need to seek assistance in the airport. She has had to drag her suitcase up the hill to the terminal and has just phoned me, absolutely exhausted. If she suffers any ill health over this, we will be seeking legal advice. HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO PASSENGERS? Firstly I can assure you we will never use Cardiff again while this is in force and we are both frequent business flyers. Secondly, I will make sure that all my colleagues and local customers know about this incredibly callous act on your part, so they can make their own minds up whether to use an airport that is no longer fit for purpose. I would expect you to be professional and reply to both these complaints in a reasonable time. Yours sincerely, J.A Ware Post a comment
