easyJet has this week announced a new flexible ticket targeted at business travellers – with a similar package to the Manx Gold offering unveiled by Manx2.com over 12 months ago.
Noel Hayes, Chairman, Manx2.com “As newcomers to the Island, they have recognised the quality of Manx2.com’s innovative business offering and have launched their own version – although aren’t quite able to match all of the benefits – complimentary lounge access, free ticket changes, online check-in, free baggage, priority boarding and open availability – which we included when we launched Manx Gold with last year.”
“At Manx2.com, we pride ourselves on customer service and aim to deliver “above and beyond” our customers’ expectations. When it comes to flying passengers to where they need to be as quickly and efficiently as possible, Manx2.com mean business – offering a service with unrivalled reliability and which puts the needs of Island-based businesses at the core of its operations.”
Schedules reach the smaller UK airports that larger airlines are unable to use, giving travellers fast and easy access to terminals and parking as well as a journey with minimum hassle. A wide range of UK routes provide vital business links between the Isle of Man and Blackpool, Gloucester (M5), Leeds Bradford, Belfast and Newcastle. These carefully selected routes and frequent flights also give travellers huge choice and flexibility.
Noel Hayes continues, “Our introduction of Manx Gold is just one illustration of our innovative approach – indeed we are delighted to have been shortlisted for this week’s Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards For Excellence for our innovation over the last year – especially with the way we helped keep the Island flying during the ash cloud disruptions.
“We’re always flattered when the big boys follow in our little footsteps and this isn’t the first time one of the larger “lo-cost” airlines has copied the successful Manx2.com model. For some time now Ryanair have aired the possibility of reducing the number of toilets on their planes to allow for more seating and bring down fares – we did that four years ago!”
HM The Queen has officially opened the £10 million refurbished and expanded terminal at Belfast International Airport.
Accompanied by His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh, Her Majesty unveiled a plaque in the business lounge to commemorate the completion of the two-year project.
The refurbishment work has seen a major reconfiguration of the airport’s landside and airside facilities, including a more spacious and modern Terminal, more space for commercial outlets and the shortening of the passenger journey from check-in to security.
