On 20 June Newquay Cornwall Airport will see the welcome return of its popular seasonal flights to Düsseldorf in Germany. Operated by Lufthansa Regional franchise partner Eurowings, the airline is offering a weekly Saturday service to this important city in the heart of the Rhein-Ruhr region using Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft.

“We are delighted to welcome Lufthansa back to Newquay Cornwall Airport. The Lufthansa Düsseldorf route saw extremely good passenger numbers last year, with almost 10% higher load factors than the Lufthansa average across its whole operation,” said Karen Medweth, Newquay Cornwall Airport’s Head of Commercial Development. “Many of Cornwall’s annual international tourists come from Germany and Lufthansa’s services provide convenient direct flights to the region for leisure and business visitors alike. “

The Cornwall to Dusseldorf flights will operate between 20 June and 12 September 2009.

When flying, I know most of us are only interested in where we want to go; who we are going to fly with and how to get to the airport, but have you ever stopped to look at the plane, really looked at the plane, and wondered how it can fly?

Airfarewatchdog.com has identified what really are the five ugliest airplanes ever built but, appearance aside, how on earth did they manage to fly?

Personally, I think the elephant-swallowing Dreamlifter is the worst!
