New: Oxford to Edinburgh Flights

The Government has confirmed that next spring flights between Oxford Airport and Edinburgh Airport will take off.

The new service, to be operated by Linksair, will commence next spring after the Department for Transport confirmed it would be providing funding for the route.

The news comes as the Chancellor, George Osborne, announced a total of 11 airport bidders would receive vital funding for key, commercially viable routes.

Speaking about the announcement, Aviation Minister Robert Goodwill, said, “Oxford and Southampton airports are vital engines for the South of England’s economy, connecting the UK and creating opportunities.”
