CAA offers advice to flight-delayed passengers

Following the recent judgement by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) about compensation for flight-delayed passengers, the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has published advice to passengers.

Although the right to compensation for delayed flights is not set out expressly in EU Regulations, the recent ruling means that passengers whose flights arrive more than three hours late may be entitled to compensation unless extraordinary circumstances, outside their airline’s control, delayed the flight.
