Gatwick Odds Slashed In Bets for New Runway

Betting firm, Betways, has slashed the odds of Gatwick being granted permission to build a new runway.

In a fierce battle between Gatwick and Heathrow, Heathrow had been the firm favourite, however now, with new Prime Minister, Teresa May, heading up the Tory Government odds on Gatwick being awarded permission to expand have been slashed.

Now Betways is offering odds of 4/7 on Gatwick expansion – this will mean the UK’s second largest runway building a second runway, whilst odds on Heathrow have been upped 5/4 to build a third runway.

The major reason is many of May’s Government MPs are deeply opposed to Heathrow expansion, with the Lord Mayor of London and Zac Goldsmith, Richmond Park MP, threatening to start a bi-election should Heathrow be given the go ahead.
