Russian airline, KD avia, is to increase the frequency of flights from Gatwick to Kaliningrad this summer. Currently operating three times per week, flights will be available daily with Gatwick flights departing around 17:15 arriving Kaliningrad at 21:35, local time. Loreta Durrell, UK Sales Manager said: “This is great news for both business and leisure travellers to Russia. Traffic has grown to all our 12 destinations since our launch in June last year and with a daily service we expect sales to be boosted by the growing number of businessmen accessing the Russian market who need flexibility in their travel arrangements. We are also seeing a growth in tourism to the fascinating city of Kaliningrad, historically called Konigsberg.” KD avia’s hub in Kaliningrad connects 12 cities in Russia with 15 cities in Europe. Departure points include: London Gatwick, Berlin, Hanover, Barcelona, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Munich, Prague, Rome, Kiev, Odessa, Sofia, Vienna, Paris and Milan. Cities served in Russia include: Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Rostov, Samara, Perm, Kazan and Volgograd plus Astana in Kazakhstan and Tel Aviv in Israel.
