bmi is to terminate its Jersey to London Heathrow services on 28 March this year.

The route was launched in March 2007, however, the airline has said that the economic downturn as well as cost increases have prevented the route from achieving an acceptable level of financial performance.

The withdrawal of the bmi service to London Heathrow does not impact on the operation of bmibaby’s (bmi’s low cost subsidiary airline) services to and from Jersey – operated from East Midlands airport, Birmingham airport, Cardiff airport and Manchester airport.

Passengers holding bookings for flights after the bmi service terminates will be contacted with details of alternative travel arrangements where possible.
