easyHotel has announced the opening of the first of its airport hotels at London Heathrow airport.

easyHotel London Heathrow will open next spring following the signing of the company’s second UK agreement with The Eclipse Hotels Group, who will open easyHotel Luton in February 2008.

The announcement comes after the opening of an easyHotel in Budapest at the beginning of the month adding to the company’s hotels in central London and Basel – a second Swiss hotel in due to open in Zurich in November.

easyHotel.com CEO, Lawrence Alexander, said: “This latest deal demonstrates that our franchisees understand the enormous potential of the easyHotel brand to operate successfully in city centres and at international travel hubs. Heathrow was always a target for the brand and we are delighted that Eclipse is confident in the potential of our business model to the extent that they are to develop another hotel before they have opened their first!”
