Damage to runway lights caused by a lightning strike on 28 July is disrupting takeoffs and landings at Heathrow airport.

Until the damage is repaired, aircraft heading west will only be able to land on the Southern runway after dusk and takeoff from the Northern runway.

Repair work should be completed by Saturday 2 August and Heathrow has apologised to residents for the alteration in flight patterns.
