Officials at Whitehall are putting pressure on the Government to make a decision over airport expansion, namely approval for Heathrow expansion.
Now that Heathrow claims it has made all the necessary adjustments to adhere to legal limits relating to environmental issues Whitehall believe it’s time to stop stalling and make the decision.
The original decision was expected at the end of the last year; however that was postponed until this summer. Now however the Prime Minister is focussing on the EU referendum. As a result, many officials and aviation heads fear the decision will be pushed back until September as a result of any Brexit fall out.
Both the airports up for expansion approval, Heathrow and Gatwick, are ready and quite literally waiting.
