Leeds Bradford Set to Double Passengers

Leeds Council is to give a new support package to Leeds Bradford Airport in a bid for the airport to become a major player in international travel in the North, which in turn strengthens the relationship between the airport and council.

Over the next decade the airport is set to double its passenger numbers – currently the airport sees 3.3million passenger pass through its doors – and then tripling those numbers by 2050.

As a result, the rapid growth in passenger numbers sees the airport as one of the fastest growing airports in the country.

The support package backs up the airport’s master plan which includes four major areas for priority – to provide better local and regional transport links, growing the airport’s network routes, job creation and a land use strategy.
