Reporting its busiest ever 12 months, over three and a half million travellers have passed through Leeds Bradford Airport.
The airport has reported this record figure, which cites a 50,000 increase in travellers from previous 12 month period.
The Yorkshire airport has been going from strength to strength, with airlines investing in additional flights and frequencies, now boasting a staggering 75 direct routes to 23 countries.
Over the summer there were more flights than ever before, with popular routes to international hub airports, Heathrow, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Dublin; whereby travellers can connect to a greater choice of long haul destinations.
What’s more, this winter will see an even greater choice for travellers, including popular winter sun destinations and city break favourites, plus special charters to New York, Lapland and a number of festive Christmas market destinations.
Speaking about the record year, Tony Hallwood, Aviation Development Director said, “Demand for air travel to and from the Leeds City Region and across Yorkshire is high and we continue to be committed to widening the choice of leisure and business routes in 2017. Meanwhile, our terminal team look forward to delivering the very best customer service to ensure everybody’s journey is pleasant as we continue to invest in our facilities over the winter period.”
