Almost two years on from the introduction of liquid restrictions in hand luggage at all UK airports, some passengers are still ignoring the rules.

At Liverpool airport, staff are reminding passengers of the restrictions and urging them to think carefully before packing. Recently, Liverpool airport security staff stopped one passenger trying to carry through 13 bottles of liquid totalling more than 2,400ml in their hand luggage – all of which breached security restrictions and were confiscated.

Liquids, which include gels and aerosols, can be carried in individual 100ml containers which fit comfortably in a re-sealable clear bag no larger than 20cm x 20cm. However, Liverpool is advising passengers to put liquids including perfumes and toiletries within their hold luggage.
