Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) has started its latest terminal improvement works.
The £4 million project is set to enhance the transit experience for departing passengers which will see a refurbishment and upgrade of around 2,000sq m of the uper floor in the Departure Lounge.
Works will see new retail areas, washroom facilities, additional seating areas and larger flight information screens installed.
The airport has already spent large sums of money on the upgrades of other areas within the airport over the last 18 months to better accommodate its forever increasing passenger numbers, with the current works due for completion just before its peak summer period, in June next year.
Keeping as much of the investment monies in the local economy, the airprot is using a large number of local builidng and shop fit compaines to carry out the works.
Speaking about the work, David Taylor, LJLA’s Interim Commercial Manager, said, “We are looking to create a real ‘wow factor’ for passengers as we welcome them into the Departure Lounge, further enhancing the customer experience and building on the really positive passenger feedback following the completion of the first phase of terminal improvements earlier this year.
We believe these latest improvements and additions to the lounge will continue to grow our reputation as the Faster, Easier, Friendlier Airport of choice for passengers as we look to create the Airport our region loves.”
