Liverpool John Lennon Airport has seen a number of new routes take off this weekend.
Wizz Air took to the skies with their two new routes, from LJLA to Budapest and to Katowice.
As well as welcoming back the return of Czech Airline’s service to Prague, Blue Air also returned with its service to Bacau.
Also, the airport welcomed a new airline to its portfolio, Spanish airline, Vueling, who will now be flying three times a week to Barcelona.
What’s more, Ryanair and easyJet have both announced an increase to their summer schedule. Additional flights will be added to destinations including Faro, Pisa, Bergerac and Malaga from LJLA.
The news only adds to the airport’s hugely successful year, with passenger numbers up by 20% for this year already.
Speaking about the exciting times ahead, Robin Tudor, Head of PR for Liverpool John Lennon Airport commented, “The Easter Bank Holiday long weekend is traditionally the first busy period of the year and again coincides with the start of the busier Summer schedules. This year we also have a number of new services starting and expect the increases in passenger numbers that we have experienced here consistently over the past 12 months to make this our busiest Easter for some time.”
