Phase two of the departure lounge refurbishments at London City Airport is due to start shortly.

The £1.5 million project is due for completion in the spring of 2009 and will utilise the same materials used in Phase one of the project to give the airport a fresh, contemporary feel.

Phase one of the departure lounge refurbishments was completed in May 2008 and saw an extension and reconfiguration of the existing terminal to add an extra 250 seats, a new bar and a lounge featuring high-speed internet and live sports screens.

Richard Gooding OBE, Chief Executive of London City Airport said: “This second phase will confirm London City Airport’s status as the UK’s foremost business travel airport.”
