Recording 10.5 million passengers in 2014, Luton Airport is proudly boasting its most successful ever year!
Passenger numbers increased by a generous 8.1% compared with last year.
The airport has strived to increase its offering so growth can be achieved, as a result of its plans, the airport added 15 new destinations to its portfolio of travel locations last year alone.
Luton Airport has ambitious plans to increase its passenger numbers from 12 million to 18 million by 2026, capitalising on the air capacity crisis at the UK’s two largest airports, Heathrow and Gatwick.
In a bid to achieve this increase, the airport plans to improve its transport links, parking and introduce even more destinations and airlines. Currently, the airport is working on a redesign of its terminal, new shopping areas are being added, along with additional food and beverage outlets. The airport is also adding a new and improved executive lounge.
Speaking about the record year, and future of the airport, Nick Barton, CEO, said, “Record passenger numbers and the launch of a bold new identity to mark the start of the £100m transformation are all great platforms from which to start 2015.”
