easyJet has announced that it is adding two new routes this winter out of Luton Airport.
The budget airline will be flying from Luton to Innsbruck as well as from Luton to Vienna.
Flights will start in December, each operating twice a week.
The Innsbruck service will fly during the airline’s winter schedule as it is a hugely popular area to fly into for skiing, with the Alps a short journey away. Whilst the Vienna service, which is hugely popular with city breakers, will operate all year round.
The two new routes will boost passengers through the airport, which has already boasted increased passenger numbers of half a million in the last 12 months, as a result, Simon Harley, Airline Manager, London Luton Airport, commented, “This summer continues to be record breaking for the Airport in terms of passenger numbers and it’s great to think that we will continue that success into the winter. The introduction of new routes to popular winter destinations like Innsbruck and Vienna will help meet this growing demand from passengers. As the £100m development of the Airport continues, we hope to add further European and international destinations.”
