A record number of passengers passed through Luton Airport in August – the busiest month in the airport’s history.

Figures recently released show the airport handled 1,095,956 passengers in August, up 2.6% on the previous year – more than 27,000 additional passengers.

London Luton expects the upward trend to continue as another nine services are still to launch this year, including routes to France, Italy, Poland, Romania and Lithuania from Ryanair and Wizz Air alongside a new service to Rotterdam from the airport’s newest airline, transavia.com
