Brand new bag drop kiosks have been installed by easyJet at Manchester Airport – a first for the airport!
The high tech kiosks will help reduce check-in queues, helping to speed up the passenger’s landside check-in time.
The kiosks have been installed as part of the 10 year plan, and staggering £1 billion budget, for improvements at the UK’s third largest airport.
easyJet passengers using the facility will be met by the airline’s ‘Welcome Hosts’, who are on standby for any questions and queries over the new service. Passengers weight their bags on scales, then a luggage tag is automatically produced. At the same time, the kiosks also check passports and a camera verifies passport, boarding and check-in concurs. A conveyor belt system then takes the luggage to the plane, as the traditional check-in system would.
Speaking about the new bag drop kiosks, Ali Gayward, easyJet Commercial Manager, said, “The new self-service kiosks provide a glimpse into the future of airport design and enable our customers to have unique use of the most innovative state of the art facilities,”
