The vigilance of Manchester Airport security staff has resulted in a man being arrested and charged at Manchester Airport.
A suspect package was detected on the security scanners at the airport which belonged to a Mr Nadeem Muhammed, 43 of Tinline Street, Bury at the end of last month.
An investigation was carried out and Mr Muhammed was arrested by Officers of the North West Counter Terrorism Unit.
After being remanded in custody, he appears in court today, 13th February 2017.
In a statement by the Police, they said, “This incident has demonstrated that the airport checks were effective with a suspicious package successfully being identified.”
