Ready for the summer season, and expected to see a boast to the local economy, Flybe has launched several new flights from Newcastle Airport.
The airline will fly between Newcastle and Stansted twice a day. This news is being welcomed by the airport, with Leon McQuaid, the airport’s Aviation Development Manager, saying that the new service will “improve connectivity to the South East and drive economic growth”.
The airline will be adding daily flights between Newcastle and Belfast City, and Newcastle and Exeter.
There will also be a multi-frequency service between Newcastle and Southampton. What’s more, between May to September, a Saturday flight will be added between Newcastle and Newquay.
Mr McQuaid, added, “Regional connectivity is important for both business and leisure travellers so we’re thrilled to welcome Stansted to the schedule. London Stansted is not only a gateway to the capital, but also gives very easy access to the surrounding counties of Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.”
