Newcastle Airport has confirmed to the Newcastle Echo that it is bidding for more American routes.
Following the success of its New York service, Chief Executive, David Laws, told the newspaper that it wants to offer more American transatlantic flights which will help boost connectivity for passengers.
The additional USA flight supports the airport’s strong growth plans; which are strengthened by it being voted, for the third year running, the ‘UK’s Best Large Airport’ by nearly 12,000 Which? survey participants this year.
Airlines are buying in to the airport’s vision, committing their energies into launching new routes – for example, Vueling will be flying to Barcelona next Spring, and easyJet has announced it will be launching new flights next Spring to Croatia, Rhodes and Corfu. Whilst many other airlines are increasing their routes and frequencies.
