Prestwick passenger numbers on the up

Glasgow Prestwick Airport has unveiled its passenger numbers for March which show the airport handled 192,142 passengers – a 6% rise compared with March 2007.

Overall, in the previous 12 months to the end of March 2008, the airport handled 2,426,630 passengers – slightly up on the previous 12 months.

New destinations introduced in the past year include Prestwick flights to Katowice, Belfast, Budapest, Cork and Poznan, with several of the new links exclusive to Scotland.
