In a rather odd ‘claim to fame’, Thomson Airways has reported that it flew nearly 100 cats and dogs out of Robin Hood Airport last year. The furry passengers included 18 cats, 73 dogs and several shipments of rabbits out of Robin Hood Airport. Last year the airline flew more than 1,600 animals overseas from many UK airports, making Thomson Airways one of the market leaders in pet cargo. With the pet loving UK holidaymakers taking advantage of ‘pet passports’, negating the need for pets to spend six months in quarantine, the most popular destination for the British to take their pets was Paphos, Cyprus.
