Huge congratulations to London Southend Airport has been announced as Which?’s Best in Britain airport.
The coveted award has now been won by London Southend for the third year in a row.
The award is based upon a Which? passenger survey, whereby 11,226 passengers completed a questionnaire regarding their travel during the year.
As a result, Southend won with a whopping 86% customer satisfaction scoring. In the seven categories, including queues at bag drop, queues at security, passport control and baggage reclaim, London Southend scored a five star rating in four of the categories.
Other regional London airports did not fare well, with Stansted and Luton both receiving just 40% customer satisfaction, and in fact picking up Britain’s Worst Airports awards, with passengers unhappy over queue times, overcrowding and lack of seating.
Speaking about the award, Chief Executive Officer of Stobart Aviation that owns London Southend Airport, Glyn Jones, said, “To be named ‘Best Airport in Britain’ for the third year running is wonderful news and once again testament to all the hard work that the team here at London Southend has put in. Our unique ‘Simply Easier’ promises to passengers that include short walking distances, superb customer service, a lack of queues compared to other London Airports, our own station and car parks right next to the terminal, with fast and frequent train services to the heart of London every 20-minutes are all key factors in our success over the last three years and why more and more passengers are repeatedly choosing London Southend Airport over all the others.”
