Monarch Aircraft Engineering Ltd, which is based at Manchester Airport, is at threat.
The company, who carry out aircraft repairs and maintenance, is looking at options to relocate elsewhere. As a result of this potential closure 100 jobs are at risk at Manchester Airport.
Also, a further 12 jobs in Luton and two in Birmingham would be at risk also.
Andy Mackay, Interim Managing Director, said, that the company was “fully committed to retaining talent, skills and expertise within our business.” when asked for comment.
Unite’s National Officer, Oliver Richardson, said of the announcement, “Eighteen months ago, our members at Monarch made significant sacrifices in terms of their pay, and terms and conditions to help secure a deal with Greybull Capital.”, citing that the news was a “severe blow”.
