In a bid to promote the new Flybe service from Dundee Airport to Amsterdam, the airport’s local Dundee County Council is investing £100,000 to support the new route.
This £100,000 funding is in addition to the £200,000 it contributed to get the route secured.
The money has helped fund the special introductory flight price of £20, which attracted over 1,000 travellers to purchase tickets.
The Council believes that the flight, that will be popular with city breakers, young and old, and business travellers alike, could be just the boost the airport needs; which currently only operates one single scheduled service to Stansted Airport.
The airport received another boost this month, as it has reportedly secured an additional service to Jersey which is rumoured to start operations later this summer.
