A new executive lounge for business passengers using Newquay Cornwall Airport was officially inaugurated by the leader of Cornwall Council, Alec Robertson, on Wednesday, 08 July.

Constructed by Mansell Construction Services, the lounge is open to all passengers with business tickets, providing comfortable seating in a relaxed atmosphere, together with state-of-the-art work stations and broadband access.

Newquay Cornwall Airport was ranked as the fastest growing airport in the UK, during the financial year 2008-2009 and is forecast to see growth this year despite the difficult economic climate, with a route network of 19 destinations, operated by eight airlines. The opening of the new executive lounge marks the completion of the second stage of development at the airport and is part of continuing plans to increase the capacity of the terminal to meet a throughput of 700,000 passengers a year.

This summer, the Airport will offer 19 destinations throughout the UK, Ireland and the EU operated by eight airlines:

Air Southwest: Bristol, Cork, Dublin, Glasgow, Leeds/Bradford, London Gatwick, London City Airport, Manchester, Newcastle, *winter* Grenoble
Skybus: Isles of Scilly, St. Brieuc (Brittany)
Flybe: Edinburgh, London Gatwick, Isle of Man
Ryanair: Alicante, London Stansted airport
Jet2.com: *new* Belfast International, *new* Leeds/Bradford
Lufthansa: Düsseldorf
Bmibaby: *new* Birmingham, Manchester airport
Falcon Travel: Zurich (Charter)
